Ease of Use

My experience using Kintone was absolutely seamless. Save for the Extensions aspect, the software developers kept true to their word when they claimed that an average user requires no coding knowledge to use the software. The custom reporting and In-record chat wall tools were very intuitive to use.

Although signing up was effortless, logging back into my account was a bit of a hassle. Kintone customer support was adept at providing necessary assistance, which enabled me to log into my account.

Lastly, Kintone provides its customers with multiple educational resources, making the user experience even more seamless. I found the product video on their website really helpful in learning about their products. This helped me in recognizing what products I could incorporate into my collaborative workflow.

Additionally, on Kintone’s YouTube channel, there are several videos describing how customers can build apps from start to finish.

Customer Support

Kintone offers live chat support located at the bottom right corner of the website. Alternatively, you can fill out the contact form provided by clicking on the “Contact Us” icon in the upper right corner of the screen.

Support hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, Pacific Time, excluding US Holidays. Although there are limited options, Kintone’s Customer Support is top-tier. When I needed assistance, their responses were polite, timely, and satisfactory.

It is advisable to use the contact form option for questions that require detailed responses. This way, you can have an actual conversation with support staff. The live chat option is suitable for more general questions. A comment section at the end of the resources page is helpful for this exact purpose.

The company provides customers (including those on a free trial) with helpful educational resources such as product tutorials, blog posts, demos, help desk articles, and an extensive FAQ section to ensure ease of use. All these can be accessed in the resources section of the Kintone website.

Personal Experience With Customer Support
Using the free trial, I reached out to Kintone’s customer support to gain clarity on a few things. Here’s was I can say about my experience:
● Responses from the live chat widget are straight to the point and instant.
● When I filled out the contact form, they replied via email in less than five minutes. Additionally, responses were more detailed than the live chat widget.
● The Kintone blog has articles on several relevant topics. I found the information there really valuable.
● Product videos on the Kintone website and Youtube channel were really helpful in navigating the website and products offered.
● Most importantly, their customer support staff was very pleasant, and the overall quality of service was exceptional.

General Features

Kintone can be grouped into three main categories: Kintone Applications, Communication Features, and Kintone Extensions.

Kintone Applications

Users can design custom applications using the pre-built templates from the Kintone marketplace. They can also create one from start to finish and use the drag and drop tools to add their data and customize the app.

Kintone Apps contain a database feature that allows you and your team to list, store, search and graph data. Kintone apps also have built-in collaboration features, which enable you to add comments and tag coworkers to individual data records for feedback or task handoffs.

Communication Features

Here you have tools such as the Kintone Spaces, a customized workspace for each department, team, or project. Spaces help you and your team consolidate related data, apps, and conversations, to achieve an efficient workflow.

It is advisable to use a single subdomain for all spaces created in your organization to access them on the same platform.

You can also organize conversations within a Space by topic using the Threads tool. This makes it easy for team members to recognize new data and add information on specific issues.

Kintone Extensions

As explained in the cons section, Kinetone Extensions are used to further customize your Kintone experience to match the specific needs of your team or organization. Using Kintone plug-ins and APIs, you can enjoy added services such as “advanced workflow customization” and “database development and configuration.”

Kintone offers integrations with several software systems, including Google, Quickbooks, Surveymonkey, Evernote, Zapier, Mailchimp, and Hubspot. Additionally, Kintone provides a public API so that customers can have universal access to the cloud service software.
