Ease of Use

Plooto’s platform is easy and satisfying to use. There are just a few menus to get used to, so it should only take you a few minutes to get up and running.

Speaking of getting up and running, Plooto walks you through the whole setup process. After you register, you’re asked for some basic information about you and your business. From there, you’ll have to upload a form of photo ID, link your bank account(s), and connect Quickbooks or Xero (whichever one you use).

Once you’re done with all this, you can begin using the platform.

Plooto says that their Experience Team — their customer service — “primarily” operates Monday-Friday 9am – 5pm. They don’t say “only”, which means they may be accessible outside business hours.

Accounts payable is a huge pain for many small businesses. You need to pay your vendors in full and on-time, but it’s a tedious task that’s ripe for human error — not to mention the ever-lingering worry of fraud.

Speaking of invoices, Plooto’s accounting software integrations let you pull invoices into Plooto automatically for monitoring. You can set up an automation to notify your customer of the invoice and send them instructions on paying it. Plooto then allows your customers to pay via credit card, direct debit, and other options.

Once again, the integration with your accounting software keeps your books updated.

However, they have solid integrations with various financial institutions and certain small business accounting software applications.

First of all, financial institutions. Plooto integrates with many banks and other institutions throughout the US and Canada. Since you can link as many accounts as you want, it’s easy to send and receive payments.

Then, Plooto integrates with both Quickbooks and Xero. Both integrations are two-way, meaning both Plooto and your accounting application use each other’s data. Plooto might pull in invoices or bills for accounts payable/receivable automation, whereas your accounting software automatically logs payment data in your books.

Plooto is refreshingly simple in nearly every aspect, too. Its UI is intuitive, pricing is easy to understand, and support is quite accessible if you ever have issues. AP and AR are easy to manage and automate with Plooto, and the integrations with banks, Quickbooks, and Xero streamlines your operations.

The only glaring downside, aside from high international transaction fees, is that Plooto is relatively barebones compared to competitors. Receipt scanning and some other helpful tools aren’t found in Plooto for the moment.

Overall, Plooto offers an excellent platform for businesses that do business domestically and need a simple AP/AR automation tool to streamline these areas.

Nearly perfect!

I've been using Plooto for almost a year now and it's made payables/receiviables such a simple procedure. I confidently can say my books are automated, and synced with the appropriate accounting software.


Ever since Plooto, I have a considerable less amount of errors and inaccuracies in my books and payments.


The only small downfall I found was that you may experience issues when working with foreign banks.

Gets the job done

My main goal is to keep my payment process low in cost. For the most part, Plooto has a done a great job making it easy. The UI, for instance, is great. However, the lack of being able to use credit cards has complicated sales for me in certain situations


The international payment feature has been a great asset to growing my business.


Would like to see the amount of payment options increase.

Plooto Works Great

Good customer service and very functional bookkeeping software. It has assisted with our productivity and has saved us time and automating our bookkeeping processes


Their per payment pricing was a factor in choosing them and they do not have them anymore. We hope they bring it back.
