Both the web and desktop applications are easy to use and look very clean. Creating a sheet and using most of the features is not difficult at all. Straight from the dashboard, you can create timelines or task lists, or boards. Familiarizing a team with Smartsheet shouldn’t be a problem, and there isn’t really any learning curve involved.

With this feature, you can set up new sheets and processes automatically with standard components, implement approval workflows, make on-the-fly changes across the entire portfolio, improve program management, and standardize project provisioning.

Workflow Automation

Workflow automation allows you to automate repetitive tasks and processes by sending alerts, requesting approvals and updates, assigning tasks to team members, recording the current date when a milestone is reached, combining multiple scenarios to meet your needs, and locking rows based on sheet changes.


The Bridge is an advanced, no-code interface feature that allows you to connect data across multiple systems, eliminating all manual steps and reducing human errors. For example, you can configure the system to automatically add leads and their related information into your CRM platform or find your most recent comment across all sheets.

Content Collaboration

Smartsheet reports allow you to work with real-time data from multiple sheets in a single view. There are two types of reports – row reports and sheet summary reports. You can configure each report to include data from as many sheets as you need and filter the information. All reports can be sent, shared, and published. You can also group, edit, summarize, and sort data in reports.

With row reports, you can compile row information from multiple sheets and drill into details. For example, you can generate a report to show all incomplete tasks across all sheets that are assigned to you and marked as “high priority.”

With sheet summary reports, you can view summary data from multiple sheets. These reports are excellent for a high-level, strategic overview on multiple projects, and highlighting portfolio-level metrics in a dashboard.

In terms of integrations, you can be absolutely sure that Smartsheet has you covered. In fact, the brand not only supports the most popular integrations but also, it has a couple of self-developed tools (10,000 feet, data uploader, bridge, brandfolder) designed to save time and improve process efficiency. Furthermore, there is also the WorkApps platform, which is a no-code platform to build custom web and mobile apps. I like it!

Smartsheet has many of the same features as Excel while being better at collaborating than the desktop version. Google Sheets may seem like an obvious solution to the collaboration problem, but I honestly prefer Smartsheet. It has better visualization and usability.

My Go-to project management software

Smartsheet is a necessity for me at work. My work life would not be the same without Smartsheet, a software I've grown to love so much that I can't imagine going one day without it! I find it more convenient than Slack for my position, and I am able to keep track of multiple projects

Lightweight Project Management Tool

SmartSheet uses a simple interface. This program is very appealing to me. Surveys are a great feature. Another feature I like is a rolling up of reports. I also like the built-in communication features. It works as a lightweight project management tool.


You must follow rigid rules that are not always intuitive. Reports work, but you need to coordinate your thinking with the developers of the application. As a project management tool, Smartsheet works well but it could definitely be improved

Overall great software for proficient Excel Users

To-do lists and task tracking are great. Keep track of everything you have to do for work with an interactive list. In addition, I use it to track groceries, housework, etc.


Although the program has all the functionality I need, it is less user-friendly than other programs I have seen. I sometimes have to type my entire email because the program doesn't recognize names, and I don't know how to fix it. Users with good Excel skills would benefit from this program.
