GoDaddy POS's Offerings
After testing out GoDaddy’s POS setup, I found the system to be well-suited for both brick-and-mortar stores and mobile sellers. Their hardware is modern, easy to get started with, and competitively priced — especially compared to other providers I’ve reviewed.
- GoDaddy Smart Terminal: This is their flagship countertop device. It has dual screens — one for you and one for the customer — which made checkout feel more polished and efficient. It’s currently priced at $399 (regular price $499), and mine arrived within two days with no issues.
- GoDaddy Smart Terminal Flex: I also tried out the Flex version, which is smaller, lighter, and better for businesses that sell on the go. It’s priced at $275 (down from $299), and it held up well in a mobile setting.
- Transaction Fees: One of the biggest upsides here is the pricing. The standard in-person rate is 2.5% + $0.00, but if you’re on the Point of Sale Plus plan, it drops to 2.3% + $0.00 — which is among the lowest I’ve seen for card-present transactions.
- Point of Sale Plus Plan: The upgrade to the Plus plan costs $28.99/month (billed annually), and I found it worthwhile for growing businesses. It includes perks like unlimited product listings and real-time inventory alerts, which were genuinely useful once I had a larger catalog to manage.
Overall, GoDaddy’s POS hardware and pricing are strong, especially for small businesses looking to keep costs low without sacrificing functionality.
Customer Support
I was impressed by how the GoDaddy website offers so many resources to help people learn about the point-of-sale software options, compare plans, and troubleshoot any issues that might arise.
The help center contains a massive database of questions and answers, which gave me a good overview of the company’s approach to POS. I also found the explainer videos and blog posts beneficial for learning the ropes.
There’s even a resource library that contains useful content relating to all aspects of business, generating good insights for my current systems and processes.
There’s also a great YouTube channel with helpful videos like this one:
Several of GoDaddy’s point-of-sale system plans offer 24/7 access to a direct support phone line, which is great if you accept orders from global customers around the clock. Any issues that arise need a quick resolution, no matter the time.
There’s also 24/7 live chat through the GoDaddy website, which I found ideal for straightforward matters. I got a response within two minutes when testing out the chat feature.
Finally, it took me about 12 hours to get a response from the email team, and the message comprehensively answered my query.
Community
GoDaddy offers a community section where you can interact with peers to discuss various topics. I was impressed by the traffic levels and the people’s activity. There’s also a LinkedIn group for small businesses to support one another, share ideas, and get inspired, which I also found especially useful.

Core Features
Inventory Management
You can sync your inventory tracking online and offline, so you don’t have to manually sync the POS software to get the latest insights into your current inventory levels. This helps avoid miscommunication when you’re off-site, as you can ensure that stock levels are kept topped up for your hottest-selling products.
Fast Payments
GoDaddy aims to move the funds into your bank account as quickly as possible after making sales, often as quickly as the following business day. This is something that really helps businesses with cash flow, which is often one of the hardest things to get right as a business owner.
Real-Time Alerts
GoDaddy POS offers real-time alerts, allowing business owners to monitor inventory issues, such as items selling out or hitting dangerously low levels. I was able to get low-stock alerts and restock in time to avoid any lost sales.
Sales Processing
GoDaddy’s POS devices handle all types of transactions for your business, including cards, digital, and cash. If you deal with many different transaction types every day, being able to seamlessly handle them with your internal systems and staying up to date with everything is vital for compliance and bookkeeping reasons.
Reporting & Sales Analytics
The GoDaddy POS system dashboard allows you to track all your business data in one place, creating charts, insights, and recommendations on how to best manage your operations. I was able to identify months with significantly lower sales. This will help drive up extra revenue by running special promotions during these periods.
Advanced Features
Credit Card Surcharge
Business owners can add a surcharge for people making payments with a credit card, allowing you to protect your bottom line. This small change can make a big difference when added up over the long run.
E-Commerce Integration
Sync all your physical inventory with your e-commerce store to ensure everything is up to date with GoDaddy’s POS software. This helpd transform the connectivity between your online and in-person operations.
Keep Selling Offline
If you can’t access the internet due to connectivity issues, you can still accept payments while offline, which avoids disaster situations where you lose sales. This is a life saver if the internet connection can sometimes be spotty.
Mobile POS
Enable transactions directly through mobile devices and tablets to ensure great flexibility. You could easily accept transactions if you have a pop-up location, not having to do anything extraordinary or revert to recording payments by hand.
Customization and Usability
Accept Payments Anywhere
With multi-location management, business owners can accept payments from customers no matter where they are, whether on a phone call, at a desk, or at a farmer’s market. The POS system offers great flexibility and convenience.
Built-in Printer & Scanner
Quickly print receipts for customers on the go with the built-in scanner and printer system for GoDaddy POS devices. This saves time and energy having to hook up external devices, allowing you to simplify the entire process.
Send Branded Pay Links & Invoices
You can customize the pay links and invoices to include certain information, messaging, and branding to create a more unique experience for the customer. I found that including information about upcoming sales and promo codes was very beneficial.
Create Discounts and Promotions
With minimal setup, you can create promotional prices, sales, discounts, and loyalty rewards to boost the customer experience. You can easily test the viability of different types of promotions to identify which approach works best.
Integration and Compatibility
WiFi & Cellular Connectivity
Connect your point of sale system to the Internet either through cellular data or by connecting to a secure WiFi network. This gives good flexibility in case one option struggles with connectivity.
Click & Collect
Thanks to the integration the POS devices have with your website, customers can place orders and pay online before picking up in-store. Many customers are delighted with this offering as it means they can save on delivery fees and control the time of collection.
Multi-Device Syncing
Whether using the GoDaddy mobile app, an in-store POS, or a computer, your account and catalog will sync in real-time across all devices, meaning no lag time could cause unintended issues. I found that it reduced the number of miscommunication errors between on-site staff and those working in the office.
Compatibility With Other Printers & Scanners
You can hook up any GoDaddy tool with any existing wireless or wired printers, barcode scanners, and cash drawers without skill. This saved me the time and energy of checking the compatibility of different devices.
Third-Party App Integration
GoDaddy’s Smart Terminal integrates with access to 35+ industry apps.
Security and Compliance
End-to-end Encryption
All transactions through GoDaddy payments are subject to end-to-end encryption, so you can be confident that payments are always secure. This helps minimize the risk of fraud, eliminating plenty of headaches.
PCI Compliant
GoDaddy POS ensures all its devices and systems meet the industry standards for secure transaction processing. This ensures that your business meets regulatory requirements and won’t face any penalties or enforcement action.
Customer Engagement
Searchable Catalog With Images
The POS system allows you to showcase your available goods and services accompanied by images for enhanced searchability. Your staff will find this feature useful for saving time when searching for specific items.
Flexible Receipt Options
Customers can choose the receipt option they prefer, whether it’s by text, email, or printed, keeping them satisfied. Performance:
Once I set up a merchant account and started using GoDaddy’s POS system, the setup process was straightforward, and the hardware worked reliably from day one. Both the Smart Terminal and Flex device felt well-built, and I appreciated being able to connect to existing printers and cash drawers without needing extra tech support.
All transactions are encrypted and PCI compliant, which checked the box for payment security. I also found the built-in scanner and printer to be convenient — especially during busier times when saving a few steps matters.
Payouts typically landed in my account the next business day, which helped keep cash flow steady. Integration with tools like CRM systems wasn’t complicated either, and syncing product info across devices worked as expected.
On the customer side, features like flexible receipt delivery (print, email, or text) and on-screen product visuals added a polished touch to the checkout experience. It’s not reinventing anything, but it does a lot of the essentials well — without getting in the way.
Ease Of Use:
GoDaddy allows you to easily manage your e-commerce and in-person retail POS systems without missing a beat. I found the onboarding process to be to-the-point and it walks you through all the key functions of the POS devices and services. You get free two-day shipping for all hardware devices.
Everything syncs instantly, no matter what device you use, which means business owners won’t see inaccurate inventory levels and recent sales data.
The cloud-based POS systems dashboard is easy to navigate and even intuitive to someone with little experience using a point-of-sale system. You can quickly generate in-depth reports about certain aspects of your business and make changes as necessary.
I enjoyed the variety of customization options, whether you want to add branding to receipts, add a credit card surcharge to transactions, or integrate with popular third-party apps.
GoDaddy ensures a smooth experience throughout the POS journey so business owners can focus on what matters.
There are plenty of other services GoDaddy offers that can complement your business, whether it’s new domains, better web hosting, or access to specific marketing services to take your business to the next level. The one-stop-shop nature streamlines everything and saves time.
Verdict:
After spending time with GoDaddy’s POS system, I can say it’s a solid choice for small and mid-sized businesses looking for reliable, modern tools without overcomplicating things. The hardware is easy to set up, the software does what it promises, and the pricing, especially with the POS Plus plan, is hard to beat.
It goes beyond basic payment processing, offering tools like inventory tracking, sales reporting, and e-commerce integration. I found the system especially useful for managing both in-store and online orders, and the ability to sell on the go added some welcome flexibility. Overall, it helped simplify daily operations without requiring a steep learning curve.
