Performance:
You realize how good a tool is only when you use it. So, I put Leonardo.ai to the test and generated some images and videos using its models. And to be frank, the results didn’t disappoint me at all. While there was some room for improvement, Leonardo certainly lived up to its tag of “Creativity Unleashed.”
Note that the quality of the image depends exclusively on the presets you choose. The Leonardo.ai AI image generator offers 10 presets for generating images. Each of the presets is optimized for various design intents. Here are the 10 presets powered by AI and their intended use:

I tested Leonardo.ai on a few presets. The first was on Cinematic Kino preset, and here were the results for the prompt “A Bollywood actress posing in front of the Eiffel Tower.”
Leonardo.ai image generator generated the images in less than 10 seconds, and the results were pretty accurate.

The AI video generation feature, however, seemed basic. To create videos in Leonardo, you need to upload an image and select motion strength (the number of movements added). Here’s how it panned out:
Leonardo.ai tool generated this 4-second clip in 4-5 minutes, which I believe is on the higher side. Overall, it displayed satisfactory performance, which will only get better with paid accounts.
Ease Of Use:
The best thing I liked about Leonardo is how easy it is to operate the AI image creating tool and generate images and videos. If the concept is in your mind, you can turn it into a reality.
The first thing I noticed is how intuitive and simplistic the interface is. Once you log into your account, you’re presented with all the available tools at the top.
You click on any of the six options to get started and start creating.
In my case, I clicked on “Image Generation” to generate AI images. Again, the interface was non-technical. You get all the settings on the left-hand side with a prompt box in the middle.
Even the advanced settings option was kept minimalistic.
This minimalistic design approach ensures that you have enough customization options without getting lost in the sea of possibilities. A similar approach is replicated for the rest of Leonardo’s AI tools.
However, because Gen AI is a relatively new technology, even the limited number of options presented can be overwhelming for some users. Therefore, Leonardo AI image creator lists a few artworks created by the community members right on the home page, under the menu option. Upon clicking on any of the images, you can see the prompt used and the settings applied.
This gives you a benchmark on which settings, resolutions, and models to apply.
Just like any other text-to-image AI tool, the images generated by Leonardo.ai were accurate 100% of the time. The accuracy depends on how well you prompt and provide context. The team provides a mini guide on how to format a basic prompt. This is a good starting point for getting started with Leonardo.ai.
