The quality of editing tools helped us turn a dull image into an aesthetic one. But, while exploring the different tools, what really caught our attention was Target. The Target feature lets you pick a specific spot of the image and adjust its elements. Using it, you can edit the image in detail and yield professional results.
Collage Maker
Photoleap’s collage maker wasn’t as impressive as we hoped it to be. It allows you to upload multiple images and adjust them the way you want. However, as far as customization goes, you can only change the grid style, frame, and ratio.
Design
The design in this app feature isn’t for creating logos and posters, but it lets you design an image from scratch using AI.
There is an option to import an image or generate one using the AI tools Describe It and Sketch It. We used the Describe It tool to get a realistic image of the sunset at the beach.
Once your image is uploaded, you can change its canvas size or add stickers and text. You can also add shapes, fill them with colors, and doodle.

AI Tools
The highlight of Photoleap by Lightricks is its use of AI. There are 5 of AI tools in the app, including AI Transform, AI Expand, AI Background, AI Cars, and AI Tattoos.
You can use them to add realistic changes to your images. For example, in the screenshot above, we used the AI Background to replace the cloudy sky of the image with a sunset sky.
There are also several AI filters to transform your selfies and headshots into exciting images.
If you scroll down further, you will also find Text to Image and Speech to Image. These are common yet useful AI tools to generate unique AI art images.
However, what stood out the most to us is the Avatar feature. This intelligent tool allows you to create a hyperrealistic avatar of yourself in different styles. You can use it to create aesthetic profile pictures and headshots.
Animate
The Animate tool does not generate animated images. Rather, it creates short-form animated videos from still images. You can select the image you want to animate, and add different elements or effects to it.

Performance:
- Startup Time: Photoleap takes a couple of seconds to launch on your device (mobile, tablet, or computer). The app is very smooth and fast like CapCut.
- Lag & Stability: We tested all the advanced features of Photoleap. Despite heavy editing, the app didn’t crash or lag at all.
- Compared to another competitor: Overall, the performance of Photoleap is similar to CapCut and Canva. The app processes everything in seconds. It doesn’t glitch or hang even after hours of usage.

The PhotoLeap app appears to be tailor-made for modern-day users. Its interface is very intuitive, inviting, and effortlessly navigable. In the following sections, let’s explore the app’s usability in more detail.
At a glance, the PhotoLeap’s layout is very simple and beginner-friendly. Here’s how it looks on iPhone 11:
As you can see, the app features are all displayed on the top and the controls are on the bottom panel. The app also shows the snippets of different features in the middle.
The overall look is clean and easy to navigate. You don’t have to find anything because all the features are right in front of you.
Every icon and symbol is labeled, so there’s no guesswork. The only icon unlabeled is the big + icon at the bottom. Like with any other app, the + icon is to create a new project.
Learning curve:
Despite being first-time users, PhotoLeap wasn’t difficult to use at all. We clicked on the + button to edit an image.
As soon as we clicked it, the app gave us the options “Edit Photo” and “AI Effects”. We selected Edit Photo to refine the desired image.
Upon doing that, PhotoLeap offered us to choose an image and start editing it right away. Or we could choose Canvas to resize the image and change the background color. There were a variety of background colors and patterns to choose from. You could also select Instagram, Story, or any other option to automatically resize the image.
However, since our aim was only to crop the image, we went back to Recents and selected the image. This led us to a simple photo editor with basic tools.After editing, we clicked on Save to download the image onto our device. This process was pretty easy and took us hardly 5 to 7 minutes.
So, the learning curve of PhotoLeap is low. Anyone who has used a photo editing app can use it without the need for tutorials and videos.
Uniqueness:
