Features & Functionality

General Features

Portfolio and Experience

Canva offers a wide variety of templates to build on. There are more than 250,000+ free templates, hundreds of design types, layouts, and fonts to choose from. However, you may be disappointed in terms of the look and feel of the finalized logo because limited functionality or features narrows down the work outlook. No skill is required to use it, and the result comes in both text and symbol.

Design Process

Canva is here to bring your vision to life. Bring your imagination to life in minutes with this step-by-step guide on designing a logo in Canva.

1. To start, choose a logo template.
2. Select your color palette for your design.
3. Add text to showcase your brand name.
4. Next, pick the proper fonts as the look of your font can have a massive impact on your logo.
5. Add your elements. These extra touches include shapes, lines, illustrations, etc., which need to be combined to be visually appealing.
6. Now finish and save a copy of your logo.

You can customize elements like font style, color, and illustration on your logo. You can create other versions of your logo so that they can be used on letterheads, business cards, email signatures, etc. Lastly, you can save it as a PNG file.

Ease Of Use:

Canva is very easy to use, even more, accessible than most design platforms. Once you’ve chosen the template and layout you like, the next thing is customization. This aspect is also relatively easy as it has been attributed to be “drag and drop.”

Verdict:

Canva is an excellent option for anyone who wants an accessible or affordable design/logo. Yes, Canva has its shortcomings, but that does not make it any less efficient design tool. The in-built templates are there to help you create a logo/design with minimal stress. Overall, the flexible features for creation and export make this a slick tool for even a rookie to operate.

Intuitive and creative!
I particularly like that Canva offers a pretty complete free package. I was able to design many things under this plan. For someone with little experience in the arts, my logo still came out stellar. I now use it on merchandise and in social media. It looks great both ways. I loved canva so much that I now use it for all my digital marketing needs. Does videos, business cards, etc.. it does it all!
Dislike:
  • No cons for me

Truly remarkable platform
Canva stood out to me when looking for a logo maker because instead of generating logos for you, this platform turns you into the actual graphic designer. Yet, it does this in a easy and simple way. Creating my logo graphics was an enjoyable experience, and I would do it again with Canva. The print options are incredible as are the templates and customization options.

Canva experience
There are no AI tools to assist you in logo making. But I still found that Canva assists you greatly in the creation of your graphics. It has everything you need in a easy to use dashboard.
Dislike:
  • Differnt than other logo makers in that you have to do more work to get a final product.

Expect to be patient
Canva doesn’t do everything for you like other logo makers do. For that reason, the process is much more tedious and time consuming. Although, you do come out with a logo that is truly what you imagined and desired.
Like:
  • The elements are super easy to work with. You can move them around or delete them in one click. The backgrounds and texts offered are also well built and simple to use.
Dislike:
  • I still think that the Wix or Tailor Brands logo maker could get the job done much faster and efficiently.

Very DIY
My logo graphics came out looking like a pro-designed them. I only have a little experience in graphic design so I hesitant to use Canva for my big business needs. It did not disappoint though. I highly recommend this creative platform for all your creation needs. My social media following is growing like crazy ever since I started implementing my creations from Canva.
Like:
  • Modern and stylish templates.
Dislike:
  • My biggest challenge was the drag and drop. The editor makes it very customizable, however it was a very particular and finicky process trying to perfect each element.
