Like the rest of the platform, the payroll experience feels intuitive and clean. Setting up a contractor for payment takes just a few clicks, and the process is clearly guided without any jargon or guesswork. Since everything from invoicing to communication is already housed in HoneyBook, being able to send payments without jumping to another tool is a major convenience. I didn’t need any setup help or tutorials to get started, which says a lot.

If you’re already using HoneyBook to run your client-facing business, adding payroll feels less like learning something new and more like unlocking a feature you always wished was there.

It’s not a full-fledged payroll system, but for solo business owners and small teams working with 1099 contractors, it delivers exactly what’s needed: simplicity, speed, and seamless integration into existing workflows. The ease of use is a standout, and the ability to handle payments within the same system used for contracts, invoices, and client communication is a real time-saver. While it lacks advanced payroll tools like W-2 support or benefits management, that’s not really its target audience – this is a smart, lightweight solution for businesses that value convenience and control without added complexity.
