VPN Speed Test
VPN speed test feature lets the user know the speed of the VPN server connections that are active. In this way, the user can connect to the high-speed VPN server location. ExpressVPN’s speed test feature is available on Mac and Windows. Speed test only works when you disconnect from the VPN.
VPN Split Tunneling
With ExpressVPN’s Split Tunneling feature, you can transmit some of the internet traffic via an encrypted VPN tunnel while other apps or devices have direct access to the internet. This feature enables clients to protect the network traffic they want. Split Tunneling is available for routers, Android, Mac, and Windows. In most cases, Split Tunneling is used to:
- Access network printer while surfing internet securely,
- Download safely without slowing down other web activity,
- Stream foreign movies while utilizing web services from the local IP address.
Split Tunneling of ExpressVPN works in two ways: Split Tunneling and Inverse Split Tunneling. The former protects all connected apps and devices except those particularly excluded while the latter protects only the selected apps or devices and everything else transmits outside the VPN.
Kill Switch
When you are using the internet, your connection can be interrupted due to several reasons. The Kill Switch, known as Network Lock in the case of ExpressVPN, will promptly stop traffic from leaving or entering your computer. ExpressVPN’s Network Lock puts an end to all online activity and protects user’s sensitive information from being stolen by cybercriminals or even your ISP.
Moreover, Network Lock ensures that a user’s machine will not leak IP address or location and, therefore, bad guys are unable to intercept his or her identity and communication.
No Activity or Connection Logs
ExpressVPN doesn’t keep connection logs and activity logs from their clients. Connection logs incorporate the client’s source IP address, session duration, and connection timestamps. Whereas, activity logs include the websites that clients visit. In addition, it also comprises the content or destination of your network traffic.
Strong VPN Encryption
Based on advanced mathematics and well-tested implementation, ExpressVPN’s encryption can hide the user’s IP address and mix his traffic with that of other users. Furthermore, the user can encrypt traffic between secure VPN servers and his device so that it cannot be read by malicious parties in between. ExpressVPN works through the advanced encryption scheme that is AES-256 or Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) with 256-bit keys.
